Statton and Hodges Return for the 2026/27 Season
We’re delighted to confirm that Jack Statton and Angus Hodges have both re-signed with Plymouth Albion ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The pair become the latest players to commit their futures to Brickfields as our squad continues to take shape for the new campaign.
Centre Jack Statton joined Albion ahead of the 2025/26 season after an impressive spell with Cardiff Met, helping the university reach the BUCS Super Rugby semi-finals.
The 5ft 11in centre showed plenty of promise during his first season at Brickfields, making several appearances before injury disrupted his progress. Now well on the road to recovery, Jack is looking forward to continuing his development under Ryan Lamb and pushing for more opportunities during the season ahead.
Jack Statton said:
“I’m really pleased to be back for another season. Last year was frustrating at times with injury, but I’m feeling good and can’t wait to get back out there with the lads. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop, learning from the coaches and contributing as much as I can this season.”
Joining Jack is back row forward Angus Hodges, who has become a firm favourite with the Albion supporters since arriving at Brickfields.
A regular feature in the first-team squad, Angus has built a reputation for his physicality, work rate and relentless commitment around the park. Closing in on 200 National League appearances and almost 100 for Plymouth Albion, he brings valuable experience alongside his dynamic style of play.
Angus Hodges said:
“We’re not done yet. This is going to be one hell of a year. We’re coming back with a vengeance, and I know the city will get behind us. History’s going to be written.”
Jack and Angus now join Sam Daly, Jarrard Hayler, Iwan Jenkins, Chris Preen, James Kenny, Noah Fenton, Max Surry, Morgan Eames, Jack Oulton, Dan Pullinger, Morgan Stone, Archie Hill, Shea Cornish, Jake Clemson, Bobby Wigginton, Harry Legg, Ben Moa, Oscar Stewart, Liam Bishop, Joel Broadhurst, Harvey Courtis, Josh MacAndrew, Ben Sharpe, Henry Sellick, Jake Bond, Jenson Boughton, Craig Duncan, Ben Saunders, Frankie Dart and Rhys Williams as our squad continues to take shape ahead of the 2026/27 season.
With pre-season now underway and our opening home fixture against Cornish Pirates just around the corner, excitement continues to build at Brickfields.
