HALLETT HOPING FOR A CHANGE IN FORTUNES…
It’s been a difficult period for the Plymouth Albion team, losing has not been a part of their DNA for a number of seasons, so this week’s match against newly promoted Sale FC is crucial in getting the season back to winning ways.
Head Coach Kieran said; “Despite our league position now, there’s no need to panic”, “We’re not half way through the season yet, so we’ve got learn from our mistakes and put in to action everything that as a team we’ve been talking about and working on in training”, but he also admitted that the three games leading up to the Christmas break were “vitally important”.
Referring to the match away against Birmingham Moseley last weekend, Hallett said; “You could see some of the naivety in the backline”, referring to the inexperience of some of the younger lads at the back. However, Hallett followed on by saying; “in these situations you just need to be patient, it’s not the same squad as last year and they are a talented group of young players who will come through for us. So, please trust them and get behind them, that’s what they need to perform at their best.”
This weekend match against Sale FC is all about turning around the season, Hallett stating “We need a decent start and we need to get some points on the board early on in the game”. “Looking at Sale, they have some decent players in their ranks, but all we are interested in is ourselves and how we put on a performance that will win us the game”.
Unfortunately, Matt Shepherd is ruled out following suffering from concussion following a clash in last week’s match, but Kieran is hopeful that the team will be secured by some experienced heads such as; Setareki Raumakita, who makes a return to the pitch for Albion this week.
Sale FC are just 6 points ahead of Albion in the league currently and being a new side to the league they are certainly holding their own, so it’s sure to be a tough game for both teams this coming weekend.
The lads on the pitch need the supporters to be as noisy as they can be this weekend, don’t be nervous for them, they want to see & hear the positivity from all around the ground – so get your loudest chants & cheers ready…the players need you this Saturday!
