The Team vs Loughborough: Match Preview

HALLETT LOOKING TO BUILD ON THE WIN AGAINST SALE FC…

In this week’s pre-match interview Head Coach, Kieran Hallett, said he is looking for the team to build on the performance which saw them win their first game in six attempts against Sale FC on the 8th December.

Hallett is under no illusion that Albion’s opponents this weekend, Loughborough Students, have a lot to bring to the game, saying “Loughborough play a really good brand of rugby and we are fully aware of the threat they pose.”

Hallett even drew some similarities with Albion’s recent performances, stating “Loughborough have been scoring plenty of points in their games, only losing by close margins”, Hallett went on the say “Loughborough may be bottom of the league currently, but with their ambitious style of play, they can always pose a threat”.

Hallett is now wanting the Albion team to take forward their win against Sale FC, where he believes the game management was “spot on”. Hallett wants more of the same, whilst marrying together everything else they have learned, on & off the pitch, so far this season.

There are a few forced changes to the squad for the weekend, Joe Snow and Rusi Tuima have both been called back to Exeter Chiefs, which means we will see Dan Collier & Cam Setter back in the starting line-up and James Kenny on the bench.

Also featuring in the squad for his second game in an Albion shirt is Frank Kelly. Frank came in to the side in the game against Sale FC on the wing, following a successful trial with Albion and his great performance on the pitch in Albion’s first development game on the 3rd December.

Completing his interview, Hallett said “The lads have been good in being able to park any disappointment from previous games, they are in a great head space at the moment and believe they can continue to deliver what is needed for us to win games.”

Plymouth Albion play Loughborough this Saturday, 15th December, with a 3pm kick off at Loughborough University Campus.
