ALBION LOOKING TO MAKE IT THREE WINS FROM THREE GAMES…
In this week’s pre-match interview Head Coach, Kieran Hallett, said he is keen to continue the recent winning performances and make it three wins from three games.
Last week’s performance against Loughborough Students showed how Albion manage a game when the conditions are bad, Hallett stating, “The conditions were extremely difficult in last week’s game, but I think as a team we managed the conditions better than Loughborough, which ultimately gave us the win”. Hallett also said, “We were able to shut them down at almost every opportunity, it wasn’t always pretty, but it’s how it needed to be done to get the win.”
Albion is now looking to continue to build on their recent successes and deliver more of the same going in to this week’s game against Esher at home, the final game before we move in to 2019.
Commenting on the upcoming game, Hallett said “From our analysis & experience, we know Esher show strength when playing. They [Esher] can be unpredictable and they have a dangerous back three, but if the lads stick to what we’ve worked on all season then we can bring home the win.”
The team is yet to be fully released, but there is some good news, Matt Shepherd has now fully recovered from concussion following a clash of heads during the game away to Birmingham Moseley a couple of weeks ago, so this means that Matt comes straight back in to the first XV. Also recovering from injury are; Dan Powell & John Dawe, however, more fitness tests will be taking place before any decision can be made on their inclusion in the squad for this Saturday.
Plymouth Albion play Esher RFC this Saturday, 22nd December, with a 3pm kick off at home at 3pm, with gates open from 12 noon.
