The 200 Club welcome Sam Nixon

Latest News

The 200 Club celebrated their first Monthly Lunch of the close season as the membership welcomed their first sponsored player, prop Sam Nixon (Soon to be ex-Exeter Chiefs and shortly to be with FCG – Football Club de Grenoble Rugby)

Following the usual light lunch of pasty and sandwiches, a couple of dozen members and supporters were treated to a potted re-cap of Sam’s progress since formally leaving Albion in early 2017. His ups and downs with Bath, loans out to Championship sides in deepest darkest Yorkshire, a rollercoaster season in Bayonne during Covid, before 2021/22 with “our perfect cousins” up the A38 – he’s seen it all!

Sam re-traced his frequent journey from Sparkford in Somerset (c200 miles and often 3 times/week!), so his presence was much appreciated. Success hasn’t spoiled him – he’s still the approachable, all-round nice guy who made such an impression with the Albion faithful during his single season at Brickfields. His on-field record speaks for itself.

Thanks also to various Shepherds, Newhams, Stevens, McDades, Prues, and Committee members, Paul C and Sharon G who stayed for the photo opp. Big up to the bar staff Nicola and Becky (who took the snap).

200 Club Monthly Lunches are open to all PARFC/rugby supporters and are usually held every first Wed of the month; 12-14.00 in the Clubhouse. Currently £6 for lunch (pre-book via 200 Club by preceding Monday noon – or just rock up for a drink and the company. (Debit or season ticket card for bar payments, but bring some cash for the raffle.)

All 200 Club enquiries to Simon Franks (Treasurer); e: plymalbi200@gmail.com, Twitter: @Plymalbi200.
