Saunders, Dart and Williams Return as Albion Squad Continues to Take Shape
We’re delighted to confirm that Ben Saunders, Frankie Dart and Rhys Williams have all re-signed with Plymouth Albion ahead of the 2026/27 season.
With pre-season getting underway on Monday, Ryan Lamb’s squad continues to gather momentum, with another three important players committing their futures to Brickfields.
Ben Saunders returns after an impressive first season with the club. Spending much of the campaign on loan at St Austell, the young forward made an immediate impact, gaining valuable National League experience while also earning selection for the Devon county squad.
Still developing his game, Ben has shown huge potential over the past 12 months and is another exciting young player with a bright future at Brickfields.
Ben Saunders said:
“I’m really pleased to be back for another season. Last year was a great learning experience for me and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop, working hard with the lads and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.”
Frankie Dart also returns after another outstanding campaign. Before injury brought his season to an early end, Frankie had become one of our most influential backs, crossing for six tries, kicking 37 conversions and collecting the club’s Try of the Season award.
Now well on the road to recovery, Frankie is looking forward to returning to action and building on another impressive season in an Albion shirt.
Frankie Dart said:
“I’m delighted to be staying at Albion. Missing the end of last season through injury was frustrating, but I’m working hard to get back fit and can’t wait to be back out there with the boys. We’ve got a really exciting squad and I’m looking forward to playing my part.”
Rhys Williams is also back for another season following another impressive year at Brickfields. The experienced hooker made 14 appearances and scored four tries during the 2025/26 campaign while continuing to showcase his intelligence around the field and his ability to influence games.
Alongside his Albion commitments, Rhys enjoyed an outstanding season representing the Royal Navy. Having previously represented Leeds Tykes and Cornish Pirates, he brings valuable leadership and experience to the squad.
Rhys Williams said:
“I’m really pleased to be back for another season. We’ve built something special over the last couple of years and with the additions we’ve made this summer, there’s a real belief around the group. I can’t wait to get going again.”
Ben, Frankie and Rhys now join Sam Daly, Jarrard Hayler, Iwan Jenkins, Chris Preen, James Kenny, Noah Fenton, Max Surry, Morgan Eames, Jack Oulton, Dan Pullinger, Morgan Stone, Archie Hill, Shea Cornish, Jake Clemson, Bobby Wigginton, Harry Legg, Ben Moa, Oscar Stewart, Liam Bishop, Joel Broadhurst, Harvey Courtis, Josh MacAndrew, Ben Sharpe, Henry Sellick, Jake Bond, Jenson Boughton and Craig Duncan as our squad continues to take shape ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
