Repeat or revenge? Albion run it back vs Exeter Uni

Albion v Exeter University, 3 PM K/O

It was a cracker last time; in fact it was so nice, we thought we would do it twice! Albion come up against Exeter University this weekend for the second time in pre-season.

A brilliant finish from Conrad Burne and a dramatic winner from Dan Pullinger were along a host of scintillating moments as the Ocean City side came out on top in Topsham previously.

That came after a hard-fought victory over a fantastic Okehampton, and it was another close fought 80 minutes last time in Cornwall as Redruth’s fine display saw them walk out winners.

Exeter brushed aside Guernsey and Taunton in their first two games of the summer, and have not played since their tremendous effort against Albion, so they are well rested and well prepared to launch another challenge on Saturday.

Having been promoted to the restructured National League Two last season, there have been plenty of signs from the BUCS team to suggest that they will be just fine in their new surroundings.

For Albion, this is one last chance for Damian Welch to finalise his squad heading into the National League One season, as Albion seek to get two wins in a row over a tough outfit.

Travel:

If you’re making your way down from Exeter, it’s about an hour’s drive down the A38 to get over to Brickfields, but please contact Exeter University’s team about any travel arrangements from Exeter.

Weather:

Summer is not over yet! We are set to have temperatures of 20 Degrees Celsius in Plymouth on Saturday, with an 11 percent chance of rain. Lovely conditions to come and watch a game of rugby with a refreshing drink from the bar!

Here, then, is the squad Damian Welch has selected for the final game of pre-season.
