James Kenny Signs for Plymouth Albion
We are pleased to confirm that James Kenny will join Plymouth Albion ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The loosehead prop arrives at Brickfields bringing a wealth of experience from the Premiership and Championship, adding further strength to the front row as we continue to build for the season ahead.
A product of Exeter Chiefs’ highly successful academy system, Kenny developed his game through Bicton College and Exeter College, progressing into the senior setup at Sandy Park.
He gained valuable experience with Exeter Braves in the Premiership Rugby Shield, alongside dual-registration spells, including time here at Plymouth Albion in National League 1, where supporters will remember his previous appearances in green and white.
Kenny went on to feature for Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership Rugby Cup and gained Championship experience with Cornish Pirates before returning to the Chiefs’ first-team environment, making 33 senior appearances for the club.
Further experience followed with a loan move to Ospreys in November 2023, before joining Ealing Trailfinders for the 2024/25 season, where he has been a regular presence in the squad.
An England Under-20 international, Kenny arrives with an outstanding list of honours, including the Anglo-Welsh Cup, Premiership Rugby title, European Champions Cup, Premiership Rugby Cup, and three Championship titles.
Now returning to Brickfields, James brings power, set-piece strength, and a winning mentality to the squad.
His signing follows the additions of Sam Daly, Jarrard Hayler, Iwan Jenkins, and Chris Preen as we continue to strengthen the group ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
