Plymouth Albion RFC Community Day Returns – Saturday 30th May

Plymouth Albion RFC Community Day is back – and after the success of last year’s event, it is already shaping up to be one of the highlights of the club calendar.

Now in its second year, Community Day brings together our youth players, families, coaches, Ladies team, and the wider Albion community for a day built around rugby, connection and shared values.

At its heart, the event is about more than just rugby. It’s about celebrating what makes Plymouth Albion special, while raising vital funds to support the continued development of our Youth and Ladies sections.

Everything we do on the day reflects the core rugby values of TREDS:

Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

🏉 Morning – Community Touch Tournament

The day begins with a fun, all-abilities touch rugby tournament, open to everyone.

Last year saw youth parents forming teams, grandparents getting involved, and plenty of laughter from start to finish. Whether you’ve played for years or are completely new to the game, this is all about getting involved and enjoying the moment.

⏰ Tournament starts 0930

🏆 Final and winners crowned at 1330

🔴 Afternoon – Dad’s Army v Plymouth Dolphins RFC

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to one of the standout fixtures of the day.

Our PARFC Dad’s Army, made up of youth coaches, parents and Ladies partners, will once again take on Plymouth Dolphins RFC in what promises to be another entertaining and good-spirited match.

After a brilliant contest last year, the Dolphins return for the rematch — and there will be no shortage of pride on the line.

🎉 Stalls, Food and Family Fun

Alongside the rugby, there will be plenty happening around the ground to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.

  • Cake sale
  • Bar open
  • Face painting
  • Kids’ activities
  • Local vendors and stalls
  • Food available throughout the day

Whether you’re playing, supporting or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

💚 Why Your Support Matters

Community Day plays a vital role in supporting the Plymouth Albion Youth and Ladies teams.

Funds raised help provide the essential resources needed to run safe, enjoyable and high-quality rugby sessions for all involved.

This season alone, your support has helped fund:

  • First aid kits
  • New rugby balls
  • Tackle pads and tackle bags
  • A ruck ball
  • Equipment trolleys
  • Coaching courses
  • First aid training

These investments directly improve the experience for players, coaches and volunteers across the club, helping create a positive and professional environment for everyone involved.

🔴 How You Can Get Involved

There are plenty of ways to be part of Community Day:

  • Enter a team into the touch tournament
  • Donate cakes for the cake sale
  • Volunteer on the day
  • Come down, watch and support

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.
