Plymouth Active Expands Support of Plymouth Albion
Plymouth Albion is pleased to confirm the continued support of Plymouth Active for the 2026/27 season, with the relationship reaching across several areas of the club and an exciting new development around Albion’s women’s rugby programme still to come.
From supporting our first team and commercial programme to helping us showcase the new 2026/27 playing kits at one of Plymouth’s most iconic locations, Plymouth Active has become increasingly connected with Albion.
For the new season, their involvement includes Lineout Colts Membership, a ground board at Brickfields, player sponsorship of Cameron Doak and Match Ball Sponsorship for our fixture against Rams.
Their support will also extend into Albion’s developing women’s programme, with Plymouth Active set to play an important role in supporting players and providing access to facilities across the city. Further details surrounding the programme will be announced soon.
Keeping Plymouth Active
Plymouth Active is a council-owned organisation responsible for some of the city’s best-known sport, leisure and wellbeing facilities.
Its venues include Tinside Lido, Plymouth Life Centre, Mount Wise Swimming Pools and Plympton Swimming Pool and Gym, providing facilities and activities for people of all ages and abilities across the city.
From gym, swimming and fitness memberships to lane swimming, aqua aerobics and aquatic programmes, Plymouth Active provides a wide range of opportunities for people to become more active.
Its facilities also offer courts for activities including badminton, squash, pickleball and table tennis.
That focus on making sport, physical activity and wellbeing accessible across Plymouth creates a natural connection with Albion and our own ambitions to provide opportunities through sport.
Supporting Albion Across the Club
Plymouth Active’s involvement with Albion extends across several areas for 2026/27.
As a Lineout Colts Member, the organisation is part of the club’s growing commercial network, while its ground board provides a visible presence at Brickfields throughout the National 1 campaign.
Plymouth Active is also the official player sponsor of Cameron Doak and will be our Match Ball Sponsor when Albion face Rams at Brickfields.
Together, these different elements have created a relationship that extends beyond traditional sponsorship and connects two organisations with a strong presence across Plymouth.
An Iconic Setting for Our 2026/27 Kit Launch
That relationship was already on show before the competitive season began.
When we wanted to take our 2026/27 kit launch into the city, Plymouth Active provided access to one of Plymouth’s most recognisable locations, Tinside Lido.
Operated by Plymouth Active, the historic waterfront venue provided the backdrop as Chris Preen and Liam Bishop unveiled Albion’s new home and away shirts.
The shoot allowed us to showcase the club and our new kits against a location synonymous with Plymouth, and we are extremely grateful to the Plymouth Active team for helping make it possible.
Supporting the Future of Women’s Rugby at Albion
The relationship between Plymouth Active and Albion is also set to develop significantly through the club’s women’s rugby programme.
While we are not quite ready to reveal the full details of the programme, Plymouth Active will play an important role in supporting its development, including providing players with access to gym facilities across the city.
Their involvement will help provide the environment and facilities needed for players to train and develop, while supporting Albion’s wider ambition to create more opportunities for women and girls within rugby.
There is much more to come around the women’s programme, and we’ll be sharing the full details very soon.
Steph Lewis, Head of Commercial from Plymouth Active said:
“We’re delighted to be working alongside Plymouth Albion Ladies and Plymouth Albion RFC as they continue to build on the foundations they’ve worked so hard to establish.
“Creating greater equity in sport starts with creating more opportunities for women and girls to participate, develop and thrive.
“Real progress happens when organisations commit their time, expertise, and resources to the journey, not just the outcome.
“Through this partnership, we’re helping to create the environment for players to succeed, while inspiring the next generation of women and girls in sport.”
James Greenacre, Commercial Director at Plymouth Albion, said:
“Our relationship with Plymouth Active is a great example of how sponsorship can develop into something that touches several different areas of the club.
“They have supported us through their Lineout Colts Membership, ground board, Match Ball Sponsorship and sponsorship of Cameron Doak, but they have also been fantastic to work with away from the traditional sponsorship assets.
“The kit launch at Tinside Lido was a brilliant example of that. We wanted to take Albion into the city and create something that really connected the club with Plymouth, and having access to such an iconic location helped us achieve exactly that.
“There is also a really exciting next chapter to this relationship through our women’s rugby programme. We’re not going to give everything away just yet, but Plymouth Active’s facilities, expertise and support are going to play an important role in helping us create the right environment for the programme to develop.
“This is an area of the club we’re incredibly excited about, and having an organisation like Plymouth Active supporting what we are trying to achieve is hugely positive. We’re grateful to everyone at Plymouth Active for their support and look forward to sharing much more about the women’s programme very soon.”
Plymouth Active’s support reflects a relationship that continues to grow beyond traditional sponsorship, connecting sport, facilities, opportunity and the wider Plymouth community.
Their involvement across the first team, commercial programme and developing women’s programme demonstrates the breadth of the relationship and the opportunities for both organisations to work together across the city.
We would like to thank everyone at Plymouth Active for their support throughout the 2026/27 season and look forward to revealing more about the next stage of the relationship soon.
