PLAYER Q&A – Josh Skelcey

General   Players

Once a week we will be doing a Q&A with our players to find out what they have been up to in the various lockdowns and what they are looking forward to when the Rugby is back. Next up, Josh Skelcey!

What’s been the one thing you have missed about a match day at Brickfields?

‘I miss the game-day buzz! Nothing better than getting a 5 pointer at Brickfields and enjoying a pint with the fans after. Special mention to Pete Harrison whose always very generous with the beer!’

What is something about away days you didn’t realise you’d miss so much?

‘We’ve had some interesting coach trips past couple seasons! Due to living in the south-west we always have a lot of bonding time on the bus. Special mention to Ducker for being Jäger Master…’

How has the team been able to integrate the new additions to the squad in this peculiar time?

‘Luckily we had a couple of months training together when lockdown restrictions were lifted! They’ve all put in the hard work and I can’t wait to see them play. Luckily I live with Jake and Phil who have been great additions to the house ‘🏠

What is something you’ve tried/started doing again since the season was cancelled that you didn’t think you had time for?

‘During the summer I managed to play more tennis and golf. Also gave me good quality time back home with the family!’

How have you been able to work on Rugby throughout the various Lockdowns?

‘The main focus has been staying fit really. Lots of road running down the Hoe and home workouts with the housemates. Hopefully, when restrictions are lifted, we can start training as a team again and improve our skills!’

‘I’d like to also say a special mention to the fans who supported the club during tough times and have bought merchandise and helped with the crowdfunder! We all really appreciate it’ 💪🏼
