PLAYER Q&A – Connor Eastgate

General   Players
Once a week we will be doing a Q&A with our players to find out what they have been up to in the various lockdowns and what they are looking forward to when the Rugby is back. Next up, Connor Eastgate!

What’s been the one thing you have missed about a match day at Brickfields?

‘Miss the atmosphere of a game day, waking up with that bit of excitement to play in front of a good crowd, also just enjoying rugby with your friends.’

What is something about away days you didn’t realise you’d miss so much?

‘The Friday night travels, something quite cool about the Friday leaves, stopping at Cribbs, getting to the hotel, just being with the team. Usually sharing a room with Josh Skelcey. Think I’m one of the only ones who enjoy it 😂

How has the team been able to integrate the new additions to the squad in this peculiar time?

‘It’s been tough due to current circumstances, luckily I live with one of our new signings Phil Jones, so I think that’s been good, he’s a top man.’

What is something you’ve tried/started doing again since the season was cancelled that you didn’t think you had time for?

‘Recently started my Carpentry Apprenticeship at Princess Yachts, which has been challenging but lots of fun over the last couple of months.’

How have you been able to work on Rugby throughout the various Lockdowns?

‘In terms of rugby skills, in general, the only thing I’ve really done is a few kicking sessions, it’s difficult to pass a ball to yourself 😂, but been working on my fitness as lockdown one for the best of me!’
