Nevada Construction and Plymouth Albion Spread Christmas Cheer at Derriford Hospital
Plymouth Albion were proud to team up with Nevada Construction this week to bring some festive cheer to the Children’s Ward at Derriford Hospital.
Colin Aldworth and Steve Holcombe, Associate Directors at Nevada Construction joined Albion co-captain Jack Oulton, alongside Morgan Stone, Jake Clemson and Jenson Boughton, for a special Christmas visit aimed at lifting spirits during the festive period.
Armed with sacks full of gifts and Santa hats, the group were warmly welcomed by the hardworking NHS staff before spending time meeting young patients and their families. Smiles, laughter and festive cheer filled the ward as gifts were handed out and Christmas wishes shared.
For Nevada Construction, the visit reflected a commitment to giving back to the local community and supporting meaningful initiatives alongside their partnership with Plymouth Albion.
“It’s great to be here with one of our partners, Plymouth Albion,” said Colin Aldworth.
“We really enjoyed the Christmas visit and seeing the smiles from the children. It means a lot to give back to those who need it most over the festive period.”
Albion co-captain Jack Oulton spoke about the impact of the visit on the players involved.
“It’s been really fulfilling being here and seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces at a time when they should really be at home with their families,” he said.
“If we can help bring a bit of happiness and distraction during a tough time, then it’s something we’re always proud to do.”

The visit served as a reminder of the power of sport and partnership beyond matchdays. While rugby brings people together on the pitch, moments like these highlight the wider role the club and its partners play within the community.
Plymouth Albion would like to thank Nevada Construction, the NHS staff at Derriford Hospital, and everyone who helped make the visit possible. It was a small gesture, but one that delivered plenty of Christmas cheer where it was most needed.
