Let’s try again: Taunton Titans preview

Latest News

The cancellation against Leeds Tykes last weekend was disappointing for all involved, and despite an eagerness to play the fixture from our part, the visitors’ reluctance led to a postponement. The game has been rescheduled for the first available break in the fixture schedule and will now take place on Saturday the 4th of February.

This weekend, the challenge comes from our nearest rivals; Taunton Titans, who will be looking to kickstart their season. After a dramatic win at their place earlier in the season, they will not be lacking in motivation as Albion overcame a whole heap of challenges to a resounding victory.

With several members of the matchday squad, and many fans, stranded on the M5, the boys did a tremendous job of bringing a win back to Plymouth that day, and more problems struck when illness infiltrated the camp a fortnight ago.

The late changes to the squad ultimately led to defeat in Birmingham despite a fine effort, so more than anything, a disruption-free day is high on the wish list in our final game before Christmas.

Indeed, the perfect gift for the Ocean City faithful would be a victory against a Taunton side that have won three of their 13 games so far this campaign and sit two positions and 11 points behind us. Following last weekend’s chaos, we do also have a game in hand.

Interestingly, all three of their wins have come on the road, so this is a side that has taken relatively well to travelling this season.

Selection-wise, Albion have a very strong line-up showing a couple of changes from last week’s team picked for Leeds with stalwart Dan Pullinger back in the run on XV and Jeremy To’a restored in the midfield.

Supporters will be pleased to see Henry Clement make a return from injury on what is a very strong bench who will all be expected to play a role in what is promising to be a Christmas cracker of a game!
