Cornish Pirates ran out 45-5 winners over Plymouth Albion at the Mennaye Fields during pre-season on Saturday.
Pirates took an early lead after an excellent switch from left to right, Jack Andrew driving over for the hosts before a difficult conversion was sent just off target.
Morgan Nelson then went over seven minutes later after a strong driving maul from the Pirates, with Tom Pittman slotting the extras.
Pirates were then awarded a penalty try after a strong driving maul, with Tom Cowan-Dickie picking up a yellow card.
Albion ended the half strong with some useful possession, some hard work at the breakdown, but Pirates’ defensive set did well to repel the threat.
However, the hosts added more to their tally early in the second half from another driving maul which led to another penalty try and a yellow card for Callum Davies.
Arthur Relton ran over 20 minutes from time to take the score to 31-0, before Matt McNab grabbed the Pirates’ sixth try of the afternoon following some neat work on the right wing.
McNab travelled over the whitewash again a few minutes later, but Albion got themselves on the board through Craig Duncan following some dogged work around the Pirates 22.
