Plymouth Albion fell to their third straight defeat for the first time this season as Sale ran out 31-3 winners at Heywood Road on Saturday.
Sale opened the scoring with just seconds on the clock through Mark Dixon, but Tom Putt quickly pulled three points back with a penalty from the tee.
Albion piled on the pressure for the remainder of the half, spending the majority of it camped in the Sale half.
Excellent defending from the hosts kept them in front through, and they grabbed their second try on the brink of half-time through Nathan Langdon.
The Manchester-based outfit dominated the second period, hitting Albion with tries from Tom Walsh and Josh Brown – as well as a penalty from Tom Curtis – before Pita Ratukareu was denied a breakaway try through some superb last-ditch defending.
Albion will look for their first win in over a month next weekend when they take on Cinderford at the Brickfields.
