Plymouth Albion are pleased to welcome Sam Daly back to Brickfields ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The flanker returns to Albion to begin the next chapter of his journey with the club, having already made a big impact across two previous spells here at Brickfields.
Sam most recently featured for Albion in 2023 after returning from Doncaster Knights, where he played during the 2022/23 campaign. He went on to score eight tries during his time back at Brickfields, including a try in his final appearance against Rosslyn Park.
Following his departure in December 2023, Sam continued his rugby journey overseas with Manly Marlins in Australia before joining French side CSBJ Rugby, where he has played since.
A committed and influential presence in the back row, Sam was a valued member of the squad during his previous time at Albion and quickly became a favourite with supporters. Now, he returns as the club continues to build on and off the pitch.
Sam had this to say about his upcoming return to Brickfields.
“I’m delighted to be back at Plymouth for a third time, and hopefully this time it’s for good. I’ve taken my rugby around the country and across the ocean, and I’m really proud of the experiences I’ve gained and what I’ve achieved along the way. But equally, I’m incredibly proud to be back here.
Plymouth has always had a special place in my heart. It’s where my career started, it’s close to home, and from the supporters to the players and staff behind the scenes, I’ve always loved being part of it. It’s even more exciting now with the progress the club is making and the direction it’s heading in.
When I first signed at 19, I said I’d love nothing more than to see this club back in the Championship. That’s still a huge motivation for me, and I’m determined to play my part.
Ryan Lamb added.
It’s fantastic to get Sam back at the club.
He’s proven at a high level, brings a lot of physicality, experience and was a stand out performer on his last stint with us. Really looking forward to having him back around the squad.Interested in sponsoring Sam for the 2026/27 season, then get in touch today and contact commercial@plymouthalbion.com
