Chinnor Take Victory at The Brickfields

Latest News

Chinnor took a 26-5 win at the Brickfields on Saturday afternoon as they continued their strong form at the top of National League 1.

In pouring rain in Devonport both sides began with attacking intent, but it was the visitors that opened the scoring with just under 15 minutes gone.

Two tries followed in the first half as Chinnor used powerful drives and neat pieces of attacking play to surge over the try line.

A sublime kick in behind from Morgan Stone brought Albion back into play at the end of the first 40 minutes as the hosts displayed plenty of fight.

Indeed, there had been ample threat from Albion throughout a first period that might have yielded more points but for some superb away defending.

Chinnor added a fourth try to the tally towards the end of the second half to all but bring an end to the contest.

Albion dominated second half possession but could not quite yield a try from it as they endured a scoreless latter 40 minutes.

The result sees Albion drop down to seventh in National League 1 heading into match day 22 next weekend against Richmond at the Brickfields.
