An Evening with Phil Vickery MBE – 31 August 2024

Latest News

We are thrilled to confirm that we will be hosting an evening with Phi Vickery MBE at the Brickfields and revealing our new playing kits on 31 August.

A lovely evening in the Old J Marquee will involve a lengthy chat with one of English Rugby’s greats, and the grand reveal of Plymouth Albion’s new playing kits ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Born in Barnstaple, Vickery played as a Tighthead Prop for England at International Level, winning the World Cup with England in 2003. He was awarded an MBE after lifting the Webb Ellis Trophy.

Nicknamed ‘The Raging Bull’, Vickery also took part in two Lions tours in 2001 and 2009, making five appearances.

At club level, Vickery made 145 appearances with Gloucester, establishing himself as a club legend at the club. He started the 2002 Zurich Championship Final win over Bristol and, despite missing the final against Northampton, was a massive part of the 2003 side that won the Powergen Cup.

Injuries would eventually force Vickery to call time on his playing career in 2010, but this would not stop him from continuing to achieve success off the field.

In 2011, he claimed the Celebrity MasterChef title, beating Kirsty Wark and Nick Pickard to the trophy.

Vickery, who founded the Raging Bull clothing brand in 2003, is a non-executive director at Creed Food Services. The Gloucester and England legend serves as an ambassador for the Prince of Wales Trust. In 2015, he became a Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire.

Vickery can often be seen commentating or cooking on television, as well as food demonstrations.

During an exciting evening in the Old J Rum Marquee, we’ll be speaking with Phil about his life and career so far, delving into the experiences of one of England’s greatest rugby talents.

From his accomplishments on the pitch, to his cooking and clothing exploits, our talk with Phil Vickery MBE is not to be missed!

And there’s more! We’ll also be revealing our Home and Away kits ahead of the 2024-25 season!

Our kit reveal is always an exciting time for us and our supporters. It’s opens the doors to our new season and builds all the hype and anticipation that makes rugby so special.

And charity partners, Rugby For Heroes, will be holding a charity auction, from which all proceeds will go to Rugby For Heroes to aid the fantastic work they do.

Individual tickets are available to purchase at £55 including VAT, while tables of 10 will receive a discounted offer of £450 including VAT.
