Albion Take First Win Since November in Birmingham

Latest News   Match Reports

A sublime away display by Plymouth Albion saw them take victory over Birmingham Moseley at Billesley Common on Saturday afternoon.

Moseley started strongly and took the lead by virtue of a penalty by Tighe Maxwell-Whiteley, but the Albion response was superb.

Having spent a vast period camped out near the hosts’ 22, some neat hands by Angus Hodges and Torin Clarke enabled Jack Oulton to run in and secure the opening try of the game.

A dominant start to the second period saw the Janners threaten to extend their advantage, and they eventually did when more excellent work through the hands ended with Morgan Stone running in down the left to score.

Tom Putt slotted an absolutely fantastic penalty to add another three in the testing, windy conditions; the points took him up to 118 for the season.

Tom Cowan-Dickie dealt the final blow as he touched down following a clinical maul, with Putt adding the extras.

The win was Albion’s first since November, and the first time they have recorded consecutive victories since then too.
