Albion Take a Point at Leicester

Latest News   Match Reports

Plymouth Albion fell to a second consecutive defeat for the first time this season as Leicester Lions took a 19-12 win at Westleigh Park.

A tight first 20 minutes saw a staunch Lions defence keep Albion out of the 22, and the hosts grabbed the advantage through a Luke Bourchier penalty from just over halfway.

Dan Lewis doubled their tally shortly afterwards after more excellent work from the home side earned them another penalty, but Gabe Mead secured the Janners’ first score from a driving maul.

Little more than a minute passed after Tom Putt’s successful conversion before James Stubbs ran in to put Leicester back in front.

Two further penalties from Lewis added more joy for Leicester to take them 12 points in front, with Ramaz Rukhadze’s late pick-and-go offering a consolation for an Albion side that were second best on Saturday afternoon.
