Plymouth Albion maintained their 100 per cent record at home this season with a 36-10 win over Sale on Saturday afternoon.
Another rapid start saw Albion run home two tries in the opening quarter of an hour – neat work down the right and then the left setting Jesse Lowe and Pita Ratukadreu away respectively.
Angus Hodges added the third with just over 20 minutes gone following some superb breaks from Lowe, Jack Oulton and Sam Daly. It was the latter that grabbed the bonus point a few minutes from the break, with Phil Jones adding his second conversion of the afternoon.
Sale got one back 10 minutes into the second half when Tom Brady went through, but Albion weathered that early storm. 10 minutes later, Oulton set Jones away through the middle, and the Welshman reached over before Tom Putt added the extras.
A neat build-up from right to left saw Sale get in again, Fergus Mulchrone landing over the whitewash for the visitors’ second.
There might have been an immediate response had the ball fallen kindly for Torin Clarke following a charge-down, but that was not forthcoming and Sale survived.
Some terrific game management saw Albion home to make it three wins from three at home this season, keeping them second in National League 1 in the process.
