Albion Return to Winning Ways against Cinderford

Latest News   Match Reports

Plymouth Albion returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they beat Cinderford 24-3 at the Brickfields.

The win ended a run of form that had seen Albion lose three in a row for the first time this season, and helped them keep touch with third-placed Birmingham Moseley.

Albion took the lead inside the opening 10 minutes when some clinical play around the 22 set away Craig Duncan for the opening score on his return.

Cinderford grabbed back three points through Joe Winfield’s penalty, before more excellent rugby across the line from Albion set away Jesse Lowe for the second try of the afternoon.

The second half started equally as strongly as the first – Jake Bond driving over after a superb maul. Tom Putt’s second conversion of the day established a 14-point lead.

The Janners pushed hard for the bonus point, and eventually grabbed it through Dan Collier when the substitute second row powered through Cinderford’s defence and over the line.
