Plymouth Albion to Support Armed Forces Charity

Plymouth Albion are excited to have formed a new partnership up with services charity, Tickets For Troops. The partnership will see Plymouth Albion will be providing a number of free tickets to servicemen and women, alongside their families, for the 2019/2020 season.

Plymouth Albion will be donating over 1000 free tickets to the charity, who will in turn give these to members & ex-members of the Armed Forces, for use at any of the home games played at the Brickfields this coming season.

The aim of the Tickets for Troops charity is to provide those who serve in HM’s Armed Forces, those medically discharged post 2001 and the next of kin of those who have passed as a result of their service, with the opportunity to attend events with their friends and family when they are off work.

Last month, Tickets for Troops marked ten years since it was established and in that time the charity has distributed over 1.4 million tickets to members of HM Armed Forces to attend events all around the UK.

Plymouth Albion is proud of its military heritage and to this day, it still works closely with the armed forces in many areas, including some of the current squad. So, when the opportunity arose, Albion were keen to show their support to this incredible charity and felt this was the perfect way to show our appreciation to all armed forces personnel.

William Campbell-Lamerton, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops, which marks its 10th anniversary later this year, said: “I would like to thank Plymouth Albion for agreeing to partner with us for this upcoming Rugby Season. With there being such a huge Naval presence in Plymouth, it is incredibly generous of Plymouth Albion to offer tickets to every home game this season. We are both delighted and grateful for their support.”
