Albion come out on top in Devonport thriller

Latest News

Albion and Devonport Services put on a show under the lights at the Brickfields on Wednesday night as Ryan Lamb’s side snatched a 26-21 victory.

A late winner from Billy Orchard secured the win against a game and brave Devonport side that went toe-to-toe with the hosts.

Sam Daly opened the scoring early on when he darted over the line, marking his return to the Brickfields with aplomb.

Devonport would hit back with two tries of their own, first through Dylan Daley, and then winger Freddie Davies.

Gabe Mead twice went over to give Albion an advantage going into the brake, but the Services continued their impressive performance in the second half.

Following some pressure in the Albion half, Rikki Bentham crashed over the line, but Orchard would Orchard would have the final word as he surged over after some patient build-up.

Devonport more than played their part in an exhilarating encounter, making for a tough evening for our boys and providing a healthy challenge to the squad.
