Part of Something New – Acronyms Join the Lineout
As Plymouth Albion charts a bold course toward its 150th anniversary, the backing of local businesses with heart and vision has never been more vital. That’s why we’re proud to welcome back Acronyms, a long-standing partner of the club with deep roots in the Brickfields journey and a proven commitment to community.
You might remember Acronyms from years past – their logo was once a familiar sight beneath the scoreboard at Brickfields. But their involvement goes far beyond branding. When Albion faced the threat of closure in 2015, Acronyms didn’t just stand by. They stood up.
“We put together a crowdfunded campaign which raised over £6,000,” recalls Tom Moore, Business Development Director. “We shouted about the campaign and shared it across the local business community. It was early in my Acronyms days, but looking back, it’s clear to see how far the club has gone and how much potential it still has.”
It’s that blend of belief, action, and loyalty that makes this renewed partnership so powerful.
“I’m delighted to be supporting Albion once again,” says Dave Smith, Managing Director. “Sport has a unique way of bringing people together and it excites me to see what’s happening both at Brickfields and across the wider Devonport area. I’m looking forward to working alongside Albion to support them on that journey, sharing the benefits of professional sport with the local community.”
Acronyms’ support this season includes the individual sponsorship of rising star Ben Moa – a young player whose energy caught their attention immediately.
“The opportunity to sponsor Ben was perfect for us,” says Frazer Lloyd-Davies, Marketing Manager. “We were keen to support an emerging talent. When we heard how he performed last season, about his eagerness to continue his journey with Albion and his ongoing desire to improve his game, it became a no-brainer. Go well Ben!”

Acronyms also return this season as one of the first to join our brand-new Lineout Membership, a fresh commercial initiative introduced for 2025/26 that offers businesses the chance to experience the very best of matchdays at Brickfields.
Through the Lineout, Acronyms will be at the heart of a premium matchday experience, hosting guests in the Arborcure Marquee, enjoying exclusive access, and activating their brand across Albion’s platforms. But this membership isn’t just about hospitality. It’s about purpose.
Every Lineout Member plays an active role in the club’s community engagement strategy including initiatives like donating season tickets to local groups who might not otherwise get the chance to enjoy live sport. It’s a partnership model that brings business, rugby, and community together in a way that reflects the very best of what Plymouth Albion stands for.
“I’m delighted to welcome Acronyms back to Brickfields as one of our Lineout Members for the 2025/26 season,” says James Greenacre, Albion’s Commercial Director. “Whether it’s backing young players like Ben Moa or helping fund grassroots initiatives across the region, their values align perfectly with what we’re building at Albion. We’re proud to have them back on board.”
For Acronyms, the Lineout represents more than a sponsorship, it’s a seat at the table of a club with ambition, history, and heart.
Beyond Rugby: A Sporting Spirit That Inspires Change
Acronyms’ love for sport doesn’t stop with rugby. They’re headline sponsors of the Tamar 10k which is Sunday 19 October, and their annual five-a-side football tournament has already funded 20 FA-accredited refereeing courses for young people. That initiative also includes six employability skills sessions and hot meals during the summer holidays, a shining example of how sport can be used as a force for good.
Add to that their support for Gloucestershire Cricket’s David Payne, and it’s clear Acronyms don’t just sponsor sport. They invest in it.
